Caruso Ventures Ten-Year Mission

Caruso Ventures (CV) is embarking on a decade-long mission to be the most catalytic tech investor in Colorado, with the goal of cementing Colorado’s position as the top geography for tech investment between the Northeast and West Coast.

Most catalytic means making substantial, authentic contributions that elevate the size, scope, and quality of Colorado’s tech ecosystem. CV seeks to accomplish this through collaborating with Colorado tech investors, Colorado’s high net-worth families and, most importantly, Colorado’s most talented tech entrepreneurs. We also aim to attract investment capital from prominent investors outside of Colorado into Colorado-based companies, helping to raise the profile and potential of the region’s best ventures.

CV will remain among Colorado’s most active tech investors, with a heightened focus on investing directly in the most promising tech entrepreneurs and their companies. We will increasingly prioritize earlier stage investing and take active roles in the governance of our portfolio companies. We will focus on sectors where Colorado has natural competitive strengths, such as quantum, space, defense tech, and digital infrastructure. Alongside these, we view capital formation as a core vertical and critical enabler. Our aspiration is for Colorado to emerge as the nation’s leading hub for on-the-ground capital formation between the coasts, with CV accelerating that trajectory.

Our intent to be catalytic extends to the broader creative and innovation ecosystem across Colorado’s Front Range. We are committed to fostering a dynamic, inclusive tech environment that engages universities, accelerators, co-investors, public sector partners, and community leaders — and positively impacts those who live in our community. We will leverage initiatives like The Bear Roars podcast, Bandwidth, and other community storytelling platforms to establish CV as a thought-leader and to spotlight the individuals, ideas, and innovations shaping Colorado’s tech future. As part of this mission, we support and collaborate with organizations that amplify innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship—such as Endeavor Global / Endeavor Colorado, Elevate Quantum, Sundance Film Festival, Boulder Roots Music Fest, the various Startup Weeks including Boulder Startup Week, Greenhouse Scholars, and CU Boulder entrepreneurial programs such as the New Venture Challenge.

CV cannot accomplish this mission alone. We must create a big tent—one that welcomes, inspires, and entices others to join us in this effort. Our success depends on building trusted partnerships with those who share our vision of cementing Colorado’s position as the top geography for tech investing between the Northeast and the West Coast.
